A bold plan for the New York Times
Josh Quittner’s Techland column in the current Fortune focuses on Marc Andreessen, the tech giant who was among those responsible for Netscape.
Andreessen is nothing if not outspoken, and I noted and offer up here what Quittner reports still young Marc says he’d do with the Times if he were running it.
Easy, he says. Kill the print product immediately and deliver the base line of news online only. “Take acute pain now in order to avoid years of chronic pain,” he says.
Also, Andreessen reportedly uses a new browser type that is extremely media friendly. Check out Flock if you want your browser to do more than navigate the web.
