More on cloud computing
Readers of this space may recall that the concept of cloud computing is something I’ve been following and have generally subscribed to. It’s cool. The computer becomes an appliance and your stuff is out there in a cloud waiting for you to access it from wherever you are.
Buzzword is a new word processing cloud application with simple but rich features for creating new documents. What makes Buzzword particularly, er, buzzworthy is that it includes a new Adobe application called AIR.
Adobe’s AIR works with Flash animation-like features to help marry web or HTML with desktop capabilities. I learned about AIR (and Buzzword) in an article in this morning’s Times online. Currently I use Google’s Docs and Spreadsheets for my Microsoft replacements, even more than I use Apple’s iWork suite. Buzzword is richer than Google Docs, however. What remains to be seen is how accessible it is for others.
Take a look at Buzzword, and watch for AIR.
