This headline in a promotional email for the upcoming issue of The Business Journal of the Triad made me scratch my head.

Buyout could mean more Furniture Brands job cuts
An effort to take the struggling Furniture Brands International private would likely result in more job losses at the company’s several North Carolina furniture companies, according to industry observers.

Tell me this: if the company’s private, why would additional job cuts be any more necessary than if it’s public?
