Apple as Fortune’s “Most Admired”
In something less than a glowing story, Fortune recognizes Apple as the “most admired” company in America.

The long cover article by Peter Elkind goes into detail about CEO Steve Jobs’s bout with cancer and stock options back-dating rather than he much more predictable product innovations and company culture. It’s not that it’s a slam piece, but it does seem irregular for the magazine’s top choice to be treated in what I think is a clearly a negative light.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think any of it is inaccurate. I just think in this case the front runner is on the ass end of the coverage.
