The Heritage Non-Classic

Posted by Mark on Sunday, March 25th, 2007. Filed under Golf.

I play in an event every year, 72 golfers, four courses, a long weekend (Fri-Mon) and - at least this year - wonderful Spring weather. So far neither my play nor my scores have been very pretty, but today - Day 3 - the format becomes individual, so there’s still time.

Competition is the lifeblood of golf, even if it’s only a Member-Guest or group outing. This one’s full of pressure, but that’s part of it. For instance, my partner missed a 2-footer yesterday, subjecting both of us to a double bogey where I thought par was cinched. He felt terrible about it, but made a 20-footer on the next hole and was doing much better.

You can learn more about The HNC (as we call it) - even see current standings - by going to the event’s web site. And I’ll give you a bit more of a report after today’s round.
