Sunday reading
I’ve spent most of today working on a presentation I make tomorrow evening and catching up on quite a bit of online reading. Particularly noteworthy was this New York Times piece on a group of brilliant and charismatic young women and their year in high school at North Newton High. The pressure they deal with, some of it self-inflicted, certainly, but a good portion thrust upon them, I’m sure, by parents, the college admission system and who knows what else - it all reminds me why one of the happiest days of my life was when I stopped being a student.
Do yourself a favor and at least watch the elaborate multi-media portion of the presentation. It’s well written, recorded and photographed. These girls truly are “amazing.”
What’s your idea?
