I stepped out for some folic acid…
During my annual (?) physical on Monday, my internist, in reviewing my cholesterol numbers (who knew there were so many?), advised I start taking a daily dose of Vitamin B, or “folic acid,” as he called it.
(Okay, fine. Now I take three medications. As if I need more proof that I’m getting older…)
So I stepped out of the home office today and journeyed into town to have the prescription filled. I came out of Target (!) and noticed my right rear tire looked low. Since I plan to drive to Beaufort tomorrow to meet a charity obligation (I’ll explain this in another post), I thought it best I have the offending tire examined. Off to Tire Kingdom.
Three hundred and sixty-eight dollars later, I have two new rear tires, a renewed fear of “penny” nails, and I’ve lost almost three hours of work time. (I wasn’t prepared for a waiting room: no laptop, no reading material and no high-speed wireless connection for my iPhone.)
And, of course, I have a bottle of pills.
What’s your idea?
