Kiawah and the Ocean Course
I had the occasion to play Kiawah’s resort jewel recently, and I couldn’t get over how much it reminded me of playing golf on a links course in the U.K.
The vegetation all has this consistent windblown look, the fairways are wide, the grasses full but short of parkland perfection, the greens bumpy and slow. If it weren’t for the multi-million dollar homes off in the distance, I might have thought I was at Troon or Tralee.
It’s expensive. With caddie we paid just over $300. But after that’s tallied and you’re past the first tee, off and away from the clubhouse, it’s fun, just short of magnificent.

What’s your idea?
