Putting Tim Russert to bed
I thought I’d posted some thoughts - mine and others’ - on the man behind “Meet the Press,” but a search on our blog proved me wrong. (Of course, after my first search, I changed search terms; it couldn’t be that I was wrong, right?)
Anyway, I found no posts on the Idea Blog, which surprises me because (A) I loved Meet the Press, watching it most times as a video podcast within hours of its airing. And (B) I admired Tim Russert. I didn’t think it about it so much, certainly not until I began seeing the talking heads and reading the “nattering nabobs” give their opinions and obits, but I did admire the big lug who seemed like a regular guy doing a stand-up job on behalf of regular guys and gals everywhere.
So I came across Peggy Noonan’s column, A Life Lesson, in the WSJ, and I thought I’d add a link as a comment to whatever post I had already made on the topic of Tim Russert. But with no earlier post, I’m left instead to serve it up here as a primer or reminder of a life well lived and what we can do to imitate it.
What’s your idea?
