It’s working for me.

If you saw my recent post on managing email (it’s here), you wonder how I’m doing with the concept of ‘inbox zero.’ (Just fine, thank you.) I pasted a card by my computer screen with the five options for dealing with the items in your email inbox:

1. Delete
2. Delegate
3. Respond
4. Defer
5. Do

Current score for me:

• No items in Inbox
• 1 item in ‘Later’ (my ‘defer’ box)
• 82 items in my Junk file (I check through it once or so a day)
• 10 items in my ‘to-do’ list, generated by emails I’ve received

By the way, it appears that Apple’s new Leopard OS combines to-do’s with its email program. That will help too.
