Innovation overcomes dogmatism

Everywhere I turn, more interest and awareness of the environment is there.

In Thomas Friedman’s column yesterday, there’s his sense of encouragement that even if the Bush administration is clueless on climate change, there are significant signs that the rest of us aren’t, including a bunch of smart guys determined to build an automobile that is “hyper-efficient.” (Their tagline, reports Friedman, is wonderful: “We are the people we have been waiting for.”)

Friedman cites a satirical (what else?) piece in the The Onion as proof that Americans are starting to get it, and there’s plenty of proof.

One of our clients is honing a public statement about sustainability that I believe will lead the industry.

Google has launched a project that will help it create its own renewable energy.

Our own Anne Cassity has begun dipping into our office’s trash cans and taking out the recyclables, then carting them home to mix with her curbside bins for collection.
